AKU is an object that hangs above eye level. It was covered with a graphite hairy fabric, giving it an animal-like character. It is an imitation of an anthropomorphic machine. It was inspired by Indian totems and African masks, symbolizing deities or spirits that were prayed to.
AKU is an object from the GENERATORS series
GENERATORS have a hidden history, not directly derived from myth, but inspired by mythology. The magic of the artifact is a myth passed on to the next generation referring to the spirit of societies. The object is between its physicality and meta history, between body and spirit, reality and imagination. It reminds us of different times, other cultures and customs. Changing generations savage the memory of their ancestors, leaving traces in language and objects that build identity but are also a burden.
